A distinguished Caribbean scholar, Geoff holds degrees in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence from MIT and an MBA from Harvard. Since founding his first startup in 1988, he has established multiple successful tech companies, including the Caribbean's largest enterprise software firm. Residing in Silicon Valley, Geoff co-founded Caribbean Tech Pioneers in 2021.
Dr. Mark Moyou, a Senior Data Scientist at NVIDIA, has experience in diverse machine learning applications. With a Ph.D. in Systems Engineering and a background in Chemical Engineering, he actively engages with the tech community as host and producer of the Caribbean Tech Pioneers Podcast and the Southern Data Science Conference.
Dr. Nick Fuller, VP of Automation and Edge at IBM Research, brings over 20 years of experience in Semiconductors, Hybrid Cloud, and AI. He has had transformative impacts in AI-powered IT automation, edge computing, and CMOS technologies. Currently, he leads a team dedicated to integrating AI and foundation models into IBM's Automation and Edge portfolios.
Taurean, an ex-Innovation Lead at Accenture Labs and current Senior Technical Project Manager at NVIDIA for AI Infrastructure, expertly combines his technical, creative, and design abilities. With advanced degrees in Mechanical Engineering, focusing on robotics and energy tech, and Applied Mathematics, he is passionate about both physical and digital realms.
Sekou is a Staff Research Scientist and Challenge Lead at IBM Research – Africa. With a focus on health-tech interactions, he aims to develop transformative technologies for Africa and beyond. An alumnus of Georgia Tech (Electrical Engineering) and Morehouse College (Computer Science), Sekou has taught and studied at various esteemed institutions. At IBM, he leverages Machine Learning to enhance decision support by expanding the evidence base.
With five degrees from MIT, Professor Patrick Hosein has made major strides in cellular communications and the internet. His career includes work with industry leaders such as AT&T, Ericsson, and Huawei, yielding 35 international patents. Currently, he's the CEO of the Trinidad and Tobago Network Information Centre (TTNIC) and serves as a Professor of Computer Science at the UWI.
Krystal Maughan is a PhD candidate in Mathematical Cryptography at the University of Vermont, focusing on post-quantum cryptography. She has gained industry experience with Meta, Google, and JPMorgan Chase & Co. Krystal also engages in programs advocating for underrepresented individuals in Computer Science Research and has participated in several workshops and conferences, underlining her active commitment to the academic community.
Learie Hercules, a tech leader with a specialty in data-driven solutions, brings experience from key roles at AT&T, Lightspeed Systems, and Smart Warehousing. With an MSc in Computer Science, he founded Heft IQ, mentors at Techstars, and serves on the Southern Data Science Conference advisory board.
Marcelle has enjoyed a varied career spanning finance, wearables, and EdTech. He has been the first engineer at a number of successful startups, and currently works as a Machine Learning Engineer at Turnitin developing natural language processing solutions for educators.
